How secure is Parserr?

Because we’re dealing with customer data all day long, data security and encryption is of the utmost importance. We’ve tried to address some of the typical concerns and questions we get around security below:

What data do you store and how is it secure?

You will notice that when you are browisng the site, you see that is hosted securely and all traffic passed between our server and your browser is encrypted:

We use 256-bit SHA encryption, which is same encryption standards used by US/Australian banks when serving you customer data, such as your internet banking pages. This ensures that during the process of serving your data, we use the most up to date security precautions the web has to offer.

Your data is also stored in an extremely secure way. In the event of a database breach, the information stored in our databases is also encrypted within our Amazon S3 servers. Amazon S3 server-side encryption uses one of the strongest block ciphers available, 256-bit Advanced Encryption Standard (AES-256), to encrypt your data.

We currently store the following data in Amazon S3 (with 256-bit Advanced Encryption Standard (AES-256)) once your email is received:

  • Headers
  • Subject line
  • To, From, CC, Bcc fields
  • HTML Body of the email
  • Plain Text Body of the email
  • File Attachments

How long do you store data for?

We store your data for 180 days for recall purposes. After that, the data is deleted such that it is not able to be restored.

How secure is downloading data from Parserr?

In the same way as when you are browisng data on Parserr, in downloading the data, the connection between our servers and you is encrypted by the same 256-bit standards as US/Australian banks use.

Who has access to my parsed email data?

The data extracted/parsed from your emails is usually the most sensitive by nature and can often contain important customer information. For this reason, all incoming email and extract/parsed data is therefore kept confidential and is not accessible by anyone else than you or anyone else in your organisation with access to your account.

In the event that you or your organisation request/accept support from Parserr, our support staff may access your data. This will only happen if you request/accept help with the setup.

Where are the Parserr servers located?

Parserr uses both the Microsoft Azure cloud and Amazon Web Services (AWS). Our Azure servers are based in the West US 2 centre. More can be read about the Azure datacentres here. Our Amazon servers are based in the US West 2 centre. More can be read about the AWS datacentres here.

Can Parserr be used by companies securely outside of the US? (eg. EU, Australia etc)

Parserr currently has multiple clients across the globe. Government organisations in the UK and Australia as well as a number of banks in Australia. Parserr has never had a data breach. Data and communications between Parserr and our global users is currently 100% encrypted as it would be in the US.

Is Parserr GDPR compliant?

Yes. And we take our obligations extremely seriously. We have, as of May 15th of 2018 taken all the steps to fulfill our obligation to the EU General Data Protection Regulation. As data controllers, we have taken every step to ensure you may retrieve and/or delete all data relating to any personal identifiable data.
